About well coordinated Sadaharitha Plantations Limited
A few years later, Sadaharitha Rambutan entered the international market, including world-renowned hospitality service providers. Sadaharitha foreseeing the vast demand in time to come for quality and certified timber, in 2006 “King of Woods – Teak” was introduced to the product portfolio on a 25-acre land in Puttalam.
It is a globally famous timber specie and is being fetched at a very higher price even in the local market. In November 2008, with the re-registration “Sadaharitha Investments Ltd” became “Sadaharitha Plantations Ltd” proving a steady growth in the journey becoming the leading and most innovative conglomerate in commercial forestry management in Asia. Sadaharitha Teak has been a great success and many plantations were established. Hence extensive research on medicinal and aromatic plant species was conducted, resulting in “Sandalwood” being introduced in 2009.
The demand gap in the global market was immense and the discovery of native trees on the island was a key factor behind introducing “Sandalwood” plantations on a commercial scale. The first plantation and the nursery were established on 39 acres of picturesque land in Beragala. Successful ventures over the years such as Teak, Sandalwood, and Mahogany have strengthened and built confidence in Sadaharitha to take up new challenges.
This resulted in an expansion into “Agarwood” in Sri Lanka in 2013, which is commercially viable, midterm, and traded at a peaking value in the global market. 34 Acre property in Neboda, holds the first commercial-scale project of Agarwood. Sadaharitha was not drawn back due to turmoil in market conditions from time to time but became sharper and more resistant to challenging environments illustrating how a successful venture builds trust.
